How to add your Blog to Feedly – Step by Step Guide

Feedly may serve as a good source for your blog if you have some interesting blog. So it’s important to add your blog to Feedly.

What is Feedly?

Feedly is a news aggregator application for various web browsers and mobile devices running iOS and Android, also available as a cloud-based service.

Feeldy can easily recognize your blog in short span without any action from you. It’s fetching details from many RSS so your site will be available there easily.

To check whether your site is available,

STEP 1:

Goto Feedly in the bottom left corner you can find the option for Add Content. Click “Add Content” and then Click “Add Website”.

Step 2:

This will open the search box. Enter your URL, not name or keyword. Your domain name might not be recognized if your blog is not that famous so use your blog URL.

Step 3:

Open the result that appeared and will show your blog posts. Click “Follow” button so that you can track your status on Feedly. add blog to feedly step 3

 

So here comes the issue. If you can’t find your blog in Feedly search you have to change setting in your blog to add your Blog to Feedly.

For WordPress blogs,

Goto Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading and change Syndication feeds show the most recent to some positive values(Recommended 10+).

So what is Syndication feeds? If you goto ‘yousite.com/feed/ ‘ you can see XML representation of no of posts you mentioned in that setting. This is how your site RSS is accessed.

For Blogger blogs,

Go to your blogger blog’s Dashboard > Settings > Other > under Site feed check if Allow Blog Feed is enabled or set to None. If it is set to none, Feedly can’t take your feed as well as blog search engines too.

Make sure it is set to any of the other options among Full, Short, Until Jump Break, Custom.
